Tombstone Tuesday - Glenn and Ruth (THOMAS) BOLGER

Glenn and Ruth (THOMAS) BOLGER

Today I begin a series of several weeks of Tombstone Tuesday posts related to my wife's family. We begin with her parents, Glenn and Ruth (THOMAS) BOLGER. They are buried in the Coon Rapids Cemetery, Coon Rapids, Carroll Co, Iowa.

This photo was taken before Ruth died in 2008 (born 1917); Glenn (1911-1971).

Families are Forever!  ;-)

  1. Do you know if you are related in any way to the actor, Ray Bolger? I don't know how common the last name is, but I don't seem to hear it very often.

  2. Nice to expand into your wife's family. Look forward to learning the origin of that name on Surname Saturday:)

  3. Two strong comments. Thank you. ;-)
    Bolger, O'Bolger, Bulger.
Irish in origin. Nancy's great-grandfather Michael emigrated during the potato famine, late 1840s. We have essentially traced all his descendants. Any relation to Ray Bolger, or Marc Bulger (LA Rams QB) would go back before crossing the ocean.
