This Blog focuses on Ancestor Stories, both the stories themselves about my family’s ancestors and discussions of where they come from and how to prepare and share them. These stories may be non-fiction or fiction – we will always tell which is which, of course. Also see my KINNICK blog and The HOMEPLACE Series Blog, left sidebar, scroll down.
Loved these! They so remind me of my own mother's photo album from the '40's! Mom wrote captions for every photo she kept! Gotta love those Mom's who did that!!!
Mom was a "Coon Rapids, Iowa" girl - born and raised and very proud of it. Mostly a town girl, growing up. Lived on a farm, up to seven miles from town as an adult, but never any farther away her whole 80+ years. West central Iowa. ;-)
I have the same comment. My Mom's older photo albums were also captioned in white pencil. When I scan the old photos, I like to also include her handwritten comments, too. That's ALOT of chickens!!!
I love her captions! "Leo and his flock" and "In front of the lilac bush". The Lilac bush must have been "special"! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Photos! But where were they taken? Missouri? Unfortunately I couldn't get them to enlarge enough to read the captions.
