I am fortunate enough to have had several "ancestors" who were interested in family history and genealogy who collected records or copies of records that I could never find today (especially living on the "wrong" side of the continent!) But thanks to them, I have access to them all in tidy binders on my shelf!Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03087276821806770733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792182418688329417.post-17898387342496687852012-01-28T21:16:48.729-06:002012-01-28T21:16:48.729-06:00Thank you, for each of your comments. ;-)Thank you, for each of your comments. ;-)Dr. Bill (William L.) In Australia many local government libraries are now setting up special 'Local Studies' collections, with an appropriately trained person in charge. Many of them have done the Local, Family and Applied History course through the University of New England (Armidale, New South Wales).Judy Websterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02331380147873608965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792182418688329417.post-86213968183301409052012-01-27T09:07:29.566-06:002012-01-27T09:07:29.566-06:00Excellent post! I totally agree that we need to do all we can to support the maintenance of "informal" repositories.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
